Yorkshire Post Moved
After 42 years the Yorkshire Post (YP) has moved from the Leeds landmark building that was built for it and opened in 1970. The newspapers the Yorkshire Post and Evening Post moved last week into an office block on Whitehall Road, Leeds. The old YP building with its concrete tower with a display of time and temperature is now up for sale. The presses closed on the old site back in the spring and the papers are now printed in Dinnington and Sunderland. From having their own landmark building the newspaper staff have moved into a shared office block albeit a bright not long built one. They occupy the building now known as No.1 Leeds at 26 Whitehall Rd. The building was built originally as the Latitude development. The above photograph is the reflection of the building on the adjacent Leeds - Liverpool canal. I just rotated the picture through 180° rather than leaving upside down.
