Sheep in Calverley Churchyard
Picture of sheep in a Yorkshire churchyard at Calverley, Leeds.
These sheep in the above picture are in the graveyard of the church of St Wilfrid in the village of Calverley just outside Leeds in Yorkshire.
In an effort to keep the weeds and brambles down and the church here has enclosed some of the churchyard with fences to keep the sheep and goats within the ares of the churchyard that need their efforts. It is I think a very good way to keep on top of the vegetation here in this old churchyard.
There are two churchyards here in the Leeds area of this bit of Yorkshire that I know of that use sheep and goats in this way, the other is a churchyard in Rawdon using sheep.
